Risks to our Catchment

Our waterways are no longer as pristine as they appear and face increasing pressures on five fronts:

  1. Urban Development
  2. Rural Development
  3. Increasing Tourism and Recreational Activities
  4. Introduction and Spread of Pest Flora and Fauna
  5. Climate Change

Within these risk areas there are currently many knowledge gaps in the field of freshwater improvement work including a lack of monitoring, measurement and data to inform decision making.

The CCP identifies a range of actions through collaboration, behaviour change and partnerships that will send us on the way to a better understanding of the needs of our precious alpine environment.
